The "Poppy" Edit
in honor of my Poppy's 90th birthday <3
Today is what would have been my Poppy’s 90th birthday and it’s a very important date!! I wish more than anything that I could speak with him today, but the next best thing I can think of is writing in his honor.
This newsletter is all about fashion and styling….something that would not be of interest to my Poppy EXCEPT for the fact that his granddaughter is the one writing it.

So, the tie in here is very random but I feel it’s worth putting into words! I had a phone call with a psychic a few months ago (a very humbling one might I add). Anyway, she told me (out of nowhere) that my Poppy was watching down on me and he really wanted me to take more risks… I was caught off guard and unclear of what I should take from it. She told me that he was adamant I would not fail as long as I tried.
For the last few months I have gone back to that phone call and tried to put some pieces together. It was only recently that I realized i’m in the midst of that risk. I was laid off from my job (one that I was very unhappy with but that’s besides the point lol) and rather than panic and jump on the next job I could find, I decided to sit in my discomfort.
So, long story short…here I am. my risk, á la a style newsletter…. hoping that anyone cares to read. Like seriously anyone! It may seem like a frivolous endeavor but it’s one that I have put on the back burner for a long time and by some storm of the universe, have now been thrown into.
….k this is becoming waaaaay more vulnerable than originally intended.
SO let’s boost the mood and tie it into style somehow, shall we? One of my fav ways to distract myself is to shop …just being honest here! I remember when I landed back in LA after attending my Poppy’s services, the first item I saw online was named “The Poppy”…..and so I bought it (obviously).
