why the chicest summer wardrobe is the one you already own.
Hello June!
I am so excited for this season…it’s my absolute favorite time of the year.
While cleaning out my closet the other day, I realized just how many great pieces were buried in there. It was a reminder that the absolute best styling opportunities sometimes already exist in our wardrobes.
A few quick thoughts on this:
True style is resourceful. It’s the art of putting a look together with what you already own, not just buying the matching set.
More clothes, more confusion. Getting dressed is so much harder when you’re constantly throwing random new pieces into the mix. We completely forget about the gems already sitting in our closets.
The goal is a curated wardrobe. New pieces are fun (and sometimes essential), but it pays to take a beat. Assess what you actually need instead of constantly hitting refresh on your entire closet.

That leads me to a personal deep-dive I did. I looked back at some outfits from past summers in an effort to see what I still have and what I can build on for the coming months. After this little activity, I am actually very excited to rewear and restyle A LOT of them!!

Summer classics….
There is very little a simple, snug dress can’t achieve. This one is a great go-to. I love throwing a denim jacket over the shoulders for a late dinner, and a great neutral sandal will always be put to good use. (my Chloé bag already makes several repeat appearances…as it should).
City athleisure
Very into a proper athleisure-in-the-city moment. Simple black shorts are constantly on repeat from June-September. To elevate the look, I like to knot a classic white tank + pair with a mini bag and some sneakers.
An olive moment, always. There’s nothing like a good summer glow to compliment it.
Stripes are a non-negotiable. A couple of my fav’s: this one from Varley and this one from Velvet. Pair with a good white denim situation or a light barrel jean and throw on a staple top. It’s really all you need!
Always been a sucker for eyelet. Always depend on a reliable cardigan.
