SS26: Spring Sandals
the 5 shoes that will carry you into summer
It’s the last week of April and i’m truly in shock at how fast this month went by. Summer is obviously on my mind, but I’m trying to stay present in this tiny sliver of spring! It’s been so fun helping others build out their out warm-weather wardrobes that actually make sense (and doing the same for my own closet).
Today, it’s all about shoes. My personal rule: they have to multi-task. I need pairs that are sturdy and chic, but also sophisticated enough to take me from a morning coffee to a dinner reservation.
Starting with a pop of color! I mostly live in neutrals, so I rely on accessories for color and texture. I have not stopped thinking about the seline mesh flip flops since I stumbled across them a few weeks ago. They’re going fast!! Sharing some alternatives that have the same vibe below:
Reformation Jessie Thong Sandal // A. Emery Flora Sandal // VINCE Jelly Thong Sandals // RAILS Porto Sandal // Veronica Beard Jelly Flip Flop // MIU MIU Thong Sandals
A classic slip-on mule is my spring non-negotiable. Although an investment, the Emme Parsons flat mule is everything. It might be your lucky day because I found some on sale here. Having the right shoe that is reliable and cute will always be worth it to me! Plus, I easily get overstimulated by the backs of ballet flats (anyone else??). If you’re behind on your pedicure, these are the best way to hide it while still looking like you tried.
Ancient Greek Sandals Raffia Flat // STAUD Otto Woven Flat // Sam Edelman Nola Flat // Dolce Vita Milie Flat // Badgley Mischka Xailee Flat // Dolce Vita Gina Mule // PRADA Crochet Slingback
If you’re looking at this list and still aren’t sure which one works with your existing closet, this is exactly what we do in The Seasonal Set-Up.
Of course, had to throw in a tried and true classic. Every girl needs a pair of simple black strappy sandals in her closet. I’ve been chatting about the STAUD Laurel Sandals for so long and that’s because they really are so good. They’re the best basic to have when you want to elevate a super laid-back look without overdoing it. Some favorites below:
Reformation Pina Flat // Margaux The Flat Sandal // LouLou Studio Amaru Sandal // Dolce Vita Kenley Sandal // Sam Edelman Elina Strappy Flat // Loeffler Randall Lara Sandal
A little hardware goes a long way. Much like a pop of color, a gold or silver accent can completely move the needle when it comes to daily style. I wrote a fun piece on this last summer and I still stand by the Amanu Kibera Sandal. They feel curated and intentional. More favorites below:
Quick closet audit: If you have a pair of sandals that give you blisters every time you wear them or a pair that feels too trendy for your current closet…let them go. Your morning routine is too precious to be ruined by a shoe that doesn't work!
Vince Polli Flat Sandals // Cecilia Demi Sandal // Emme Parsons Laurie Sandal // Loeffler Randall Strappy Sandal //
Although there are several other pairs I would love to highlight, I’m ending this week’s curation with a wardrobe staple. I love these in brown, white, and black because they pair with everything and involve zero decision fatigue. I know I have mentioned them before but the Aeyde Faye Flats are a 10/10 choice - you’ll buy them once and wear them for five years. Similar’s below:
